Fall Mums
Chrysanthemums are a must-have for the fall garden. No other fall flower delivers as much color for as long and as reliably as good ol' mums. Mums liven up the fading fall garden with handsome flowers of nearly all shades and colors. Some varieties have daisy blooms; others may be rounded globes, flat, fringed, quill shape, or spoon shape. They work exceptionally well in container plantings and pots.  Learn more about mums

Pansies
Pansies will give you fantastic color along with great durability from Mother Nature’s unpredictable cold nights through the spring. Pansies can take temperatures down into the 20s without showing any signs of wilting. Even the coldest winter night won’t kill these pansies, merely slowing them down until the next sunny day.  Learn more about planting pansies and see our 2019 pansy varieties

Pansies in 6.5" pots $4.99 each or $4.49 when you buy 10 or more

Ornamental Grasses
Ornamental grasses are available in a wide array of colors, shapes, textures and sizes.
Each grass species has its own unique form- they may form low compact mounds, tall screens, or densely spreading mats. The foliage colors include various shades of green, blue, and red, as well as variegated varieties having red, white, or yellow foliage banded with ivory or yellow stripes. In the fall, the spring and summer colors change to hues of red, beige, or brown providing a great winter garden accent.  Learn more about Ornamental Grasses

There are many joys with gardening. For many of us, the number one joy is being able to enjoy having color in our gardens or containers year-round. We are fortunate to live in a state (Zones 6 – 8) that is temperate enough to allow flowers to be planted and enjoyed all twelve months of the year.  Here we are in entering the last days of October. We are now having more seasonable, fall-like temperatures.  It's time to plant Fall and Winter interest flowers. Read more from Doug

Fall Lawn Care
With the heat of summer behind you, it is time once again to start looking forward to the satisfaction that comes from having a lush green lawn. Whether you are starting from scratch or hoping to add new life to a tired lawn, a few basic pointers will start you on the road to success.  In most cases, fertilizer, lime, and water will be the only ingredients you will need. However, if 50% of your lawn is brown or dead, you should renovate the entire area including dethatching and aeration.  Regardless of the condition of your yard, it is never too late to go for the green!  See our monthly Fall Lawn Care checklist

FREE Landscape Planning
Last day is Sunday, October 27
Our Free Landscape Planning service is available at many of our garden centers through October 27th.
Our garden center design service is first come, first served, no appointment is needed. Bring photos, sketches, measurements, or a property plat to assist the designer in planning.

Lawn Renovation
Is your lawn tired and brown?  The quality and quantity of cores removed by Meadows Farms top of the line aerators cannot be matched. We have tested every major brand, and the quality and number of plugs taken by this aerator is unsurpassed. More and deeper plugs encourage deeper, more drought resistant lawn roots.    See this top of the line aerator in action

Amaryllis - Beautiful and Easy
Bonnie's Garden
This is the time of year to get my all-time favorite flowers–Amaryllis. Well, actually, what we call ‘amaryllis’ are really ‘hippeastrum’–members of the amaryllis family. The plants that are technically ‘amaryllis’ are the Amaryllis Belladonna and relatives, however, hippeastrum has been called ‘amaryllis’ for so long, that we’ll never be able to get people to call them anything else. So I’ll call them amaryllis, too.  By the way, the word Amaryllis, in Greek, means sparkle.  Learn about Amaryllis
