September Gardening Tasks
 Doug's Blog
I think we can safely refer to August as the PETRICHOR MONTH. Petrichor is defined as the unique, earthy smell associated with rain. We had a record rainfall amount in August. But, on the positive side, our plants have been well watered by Mother Nature. Our rivers, streams, reservoirs, and underground aquifers are full as we head into September.  With September, we are entering a very important time for gardening, planting, and lawn care. Now is the time to take advantage of our moist, warm soils and get our planting and gardening tasks underway.

Brighten Your Yard with Great Fall Color
Bonnie's Garden

I've had so many customers looking for late summer color—some because they just decided they want to accent that deck, patio or porch, and others because their summer annuals are starting to look a little "tired." They want pretty fall colors.  Pansies and mums are reliable favorites for fall color. There are other plants that will also give us beautiful fall colors.

Fall Is for Planting

Being outside, as a family, provides opportunities and activities for family time in the garden. Just because the fall season is just around the corner does not mean that it is now too late to think about gardening and planting. Actually, the fall season provides some valuable gardening opportunities.
